Professor Adam Joinson

Professor of Information Systems, School of Management

Make it stand out.

Adam conducts inter-disciplinary research on the interaction between human behaviour and technology, particularly on how the design of systems influences behaviour ranging from privacy and self-disclosure, cyber-security, social relations and patterns of influence.

He was one of the founders of the field now known as “cyberpsychology” and pioneered the use of online methods for data collection.

Recent work has looked at digital footprints and privacy, security habits, balancing innovation and security in businesses, online bystanders and ways to understand and reduce harm in online spaces.

Make it stand out.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
