1. General: 

1.1. Members of the University of Bath's Institute for Digital Security and Behaviour are automatically granted access to the equipment booking system. University of Bath members who are not part of the Institute must request access through Jiahao Eric Yang. 

1.2. Equipment bookings should not be made on behalf of another person without prior discussion with Jiahao Eric Yang. 

1.3. Lab and room bookings should be made through LibCal and are approved by Sarah Parry and Adam Joinson.  

2. Equipment: 

2.1. The equipment loan service is overseen by Jiahao Eric Yang and Adam Joinson. 

2.2. Equipment will only be loaned to users upon presentation of their valid University ID card at the time of collection. 

2.3. Certain equipment may require specialized training prior to loan approval. 

2.4. Users must read, understand, and agree to the relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) before borrowing equipment. 

2.5. Users must inspect all equipment upon collection and report any issues immediately to the loans desk. Failure to do so may result in the user being held responsible for any damage identified upon return. 

2.6. The user is solely responsible for the equipment during the entire loan period. Equipment must not be transferred to another user. 

2.7. Equipment must be returned in its original condition as issued. 

2.8. Equipment may only be used for research purposes. 

2.9. Equipment can be borrowed for up to one week (UG and PGT) or up to one month (PGR & Staff). If a longer loan is required, users must contact Dr. Jiahao Eric Yang or Prof. Adam Joinson to discuss arrangements. 

2.10. Equipment must be collected and returned during designated workshop hours. 

2.11. Equipment must be pre-booked. If the user fails to collect the equipment within 2 hours of the agreed collection time, the booking will be automatically canceled and made available to other users. 

3. Variation of the Terms and Conditions: 

3.1. The IDSB reserves the right to update these Loan Terms & Conditions at any time. Changes will be published on the IDSB homepage and will take immediate effect. Users are responsible for regularly reviewing the webpage for updates.
