University alumnus Professor Tom Crick visits IDSB

The IDSB recently welcomed Professor Tom Crick MBE, Chief Scientific Adviser at Department for Culture, Media and Sport and University of Bath alumnus, for a visit showcasing interdisciplinary digital research across the University.

Bringing together researchers working across digital security, online behaviour, AI and responsible innovation, the visit provided an opportunity to explore emerging challenges at the intersection of technology, society and policy. Discussions focused on themes including public trust, security and the wider societal impact of frontier technologies, highlighting the importance of research that connects evidence, policy and practice.

The visit also created opportunities to strengthen dialogue between researchers and policymakers and to explore future areas for collaboration.
